Gymea North Public School is situated in a quiet, well established, residential area in Sutherland Shire. The school has extensive grass and bush areas with three well-equipped and maintained full brick buildings. The lower playground provides a cool and shady area for the children to play, have outdoor lessons and activities. Gymea North's core aim is: "To guide each child, through developmental stages, towards achieving his/her potential." The school has a well recognised reputation in the community for high academic, cultural and sporting achievement. All are encouraged to respect the rights of others, display tolerance and good manners, with a positive sense of responsibility. Each classroom environment is attractive, functional and equipped to encourage desirable learning outcomes. A strong feature of the school is the overall support given to the classroom teachers by the parent community.
